THE THEATRE OF ANTON CHEKHOV with ÁNGEL GUTIÉRREZ (Spain) - Chekhov Theatre School in Melikhovo (Russia) THE THEATRE OF ANTON CHEKHOV with ÁNGEL GUTIÉRREZ (Spain) - Chekhov Theatre School in Melikhovo (Russia)

THE THEATRE OF ANTON CHEKHOV is an exceptional opportunity for actors and stage directors interested in advancing their practical knowledge and experience in The Stanislavski’s System under the guidelines of one of the greatest and most influential of modern theatre practitioners of our time – Ángel Gutiérrez (Spain).

The Stanislavski’s System is the technique that allows the control of one’s self, body, and voice, because that is all that an actor has to work with. The method is the key that will help us to own and control our own nature and to develop the endless possibilities of the soul. The Stanislavski’s System is inspired by natural laws where the physical and psychic is indivisible, where the most complex spiritual and psychic processes are expressed by an uninterrupted chain of actions that are real and specific.

The work will be based on the working literary material of Anton Chekhov’s three masterpieces: The Seagull (1895), The Cherry Orchard (1903), and Uncle Vanya (1896). Improvisation, rehearsal procedures, working on the text, and learning how to apply the exercises/tools when working on a character for a monologue or scene will be practiced, performed, and critiqued.

Participants will have an opportunity to share their artistic work at a presentational showcase and symposium on the open-air theatre stage and in Chekhov’s theatre yard at The State Literary and Memorial Museum of Anton Chekhov in Melikhovo.

OUR MASTER COURSES IN MELIKHOVO WILL STRIVE TO UNEARTH AND UNFOLD EACH PARTICIPANT’S UNIQUE POTENTIALITIES AND SUPPORT PARTICIPANTS AS THEY REFINE, THROUGH PERSISTENT AND DEDICATED WORK, THE CREATIVE PROPOSITIONS THEY HAVE EACH BROUGHT TO THE WORK.

Only 15 participants will be selected. The day by day PROGRAM for THE THEATRE OF ANTON CHEKHOV will be available two weeks before the Master Course commences.
The total teaching hours are 32. (please note that rehearsing and preparation hours for the work are not included)
